Anna Beddoes to Davies Giddy, 12 June 1808
Thank you my dear friend for returning the Drs last letter [1] it contained a lock of little Henry’s hair [2] which I expected to have had in time before I left London to put into a locket for Miss Grant — but I was such a fool as to lose the broach since my return — I left it on the table where I was writing in the evening, & next morning upon looking for it and after every enquiry and search, it is no where to be found. I hope you will continue as well as when I saw you, and I most sincerely hope that Mrs Giddy will take every possible care of her health which is certainly very delicate this I hope for both your sakes, as the consequences of over exertion may be very serious – and I among the numbers of your friends am very anxious to take your little son & heir in my arms [3] — adieu my dear friend with kind wishes to Mrs Giddy believe me
affectionately yours
A M Beddoes
