Anna Beddoes to Davies Giddy, 17 February 1808
Believe me my dear Davies I can never for a moment doubt the kindness and strength of your affection – but at the same time it is but right, and you would not act as you ought, as I am sure you will if your thoughts are not now flowing in a very different channel — I am unwilling to write to you on this very account — they ought not to be disturbed — Every kind wish from me follows you wherever you go — I think of you very often
& so farewell –
Anna.
