Anna Beddoes to Davies Giddy, 15 April 1808
My dearest friend, in a little time, in a few days perhaps, your spirits will be better, indeed they must naturally become so, a thousand little new interests will keep your mind from dwelling upon any thing unpleasant it will give me great pleasure to hear this from yourself – and I sincerely thank you for your goodness to me, and the confidence which you repose in m[MS torn] If it would be more agreeable that I sha[MS torn] not come to London tell me so, and you will find your wishes shall be mine –
You have not distinctly told me but I suppose Monday is the day of your marriage — I cannot now hear before Thursday – may these days pass as from my heart I wish them —
