Thomas Beddoes to Davies Giddy, 9 November 1808

Formerly I was too far gone to be benefitted by leeches, but now they had not been on five minutes, before the pain went, and has hardly been felt since.

Every new application has increased the xxxx feel of freedom about the liver.

In short I am certain I am not a subject for pressing the great powers of medicine, but I think I might recover if they are applied with the most timidness.

Address: Davies Giddy Esq / Eastbourne / Sussex
