Thomas Beddoes to Davies Giddy, 19 August 1808

Dear Giddy

It is now midnight – Anna is working – but she has gone for Mr Baynton – The issue you shall know –

Did you or somebody else tell me that Capt Buller MP was found to have an inflammation of ye stomach? I remember your saying that some of the great London doctors had given strong opinions of his safety 48 hours before he died of the given disease – other cases have occurred & in these as in Ld Macartney an inflammation of the stomach was found – If any examination was made of Capt Buller what was found – Other wise what were the overt symptoms –

We have flattering accounts of Tom from Ireland – his grandfather has the assurance to talk of the healthiness of his place & family he who has lost 8 children & has never a healthy one unless the last brood

I am Dear Giddy
Yours truly

Thomas Beddoes
