Thomas Beddoes to Eleanor Estcourt, 16 July 1808

16 July

Dear Madam

I think doubtless that Mastr Edmund shall be bathed in cold salt & water – a pound of salt to each 2 gallons of water – I think too that if dry warm, pouring warm water over will be of much use – & he shd be kept from over exertion still & in a cool room – during the rage of heat – His food – milk – might be artificially cooled –

I am in great haste & will write again, if anything occurs
yrs truly
