Thomas Beddoes to Davies Giddy, 10 July 1807
Dear Giddy
I do not know whether it will be out of yr way to speak to Deboffe on the subject of the enclosed – Dr Garthshore through his good offices has already lent me 2 vols & these have been returned safe – I cannot wish to impose on De boffe the responsibility in question – If it can be thrown on me, I am willing to take it – You see it is more a matter of form than substance for in fact there is no danger of the miscarriage of a parcel – the thing never happened to me – In short, if you or De boffe cd get any body just to see to the entry by Froment’s Bristol coach, so as to prove the fact if necessary, I shd desire no more & wd request you to give any of De boffe’s people or whoever else it might be – I shd be glad of the work to verify certain references for a tract, I have just begun to print
I believe I need not say any more in explanation –
Anna was guilty – I must use this word – of the most cruel freak I ever knew her commit which was walking to Trinity St & back the hottest part of one these hot days –
yrs truly
Thomas Beddoes
