Nothing further seems to be worth recommending on the subject of regimen than simple nutritious fare –
Beer shd be avoided
Madeira or good sherry 1 part, water 2 or 3 parts –
Soda or seltzer water – if agreeable –
Tepid bathing at from 95o to 97o for 30 or 40 minutes in the morning part of the day – twice or thrice a week –
As soon as the cough is gone, the arms back & chest to be hastily spunged with a spunge dipped in cold water – when the skin is dry warm –
This to be used at the same time with ye tepid bathing & continued for a length of time – Cold bath in summer, when there is no cough or irritation of the mucous membrane of the chest –
Probably the medicines now prescribed may be advantageously changed in x days
