Thomas Beddoes to Davies Giddy, July 1806

I do not know that I had much in contemplation from D.G. seeing these premises – My principal wish I believe was that he should see my mother & sister – whose notions are very injurious to me respg the proposed sale –

Also, in that part where they are lives the widow of a late [word omitted] between 60 & 70 but who will outlive me – She has an estate which goes to my uncle (mother’s brother now very old) – My query was whether by any form of law as by surrendering it & then having it again for a pepper corn a year this wd enable me to dispose of it by will –

Another estate held by the above uncle is left to me & my sister jointly – I had the same qy about my half of that – This estate is held by my uncle who I believe wd all he can to accommodate me
