Thomas Beddoes to Davies Giddy, 5 March 1805

Dear Giddy

Thank you for ye act of Mr Cary’s complaint agt me – Please to let him have the underwritten at yr convenience

----------

Clifton. 9 Feb. 1805

Dr Beddoes referred Mr Cary to Mr W. Jacob Newgate St for payment – He returned the 2 thermometers because Mr Cary desired he wd if they did not suit him – He had not time to write then – but now he informs Mr C that he wishes for 2 thermrs to take the human temperature, which should be curved & very sensible – the fault of those he has seen is the smallness of the bulb – This should be as large as a large garden pea at least – the bore of the tube very fine – the sooner it acquires the heat of the body, the better – Otherwise people grow out of patience and you do not get what you want at last

Address: Davies Giddy Esq MP / No. 6 / Boyle Street / Savile Row / London
