Thomas Beddoes to Davies Giddy, 8 November 1804

Dear Giddy

Some weeks ago Guillemard wrote me a prim letter about his duty to the Griffins & added that he was prohibited going into Cornwall – but he was resigned (they had their reasons no doubt) Of this I thought nothing, but it struck me much 3 days ago on going to see Mrs Stock that Dr Stock said to me that he had just received a letter from G. in a most extraordinary style – He repeated it to me as something he cd not comprehend from G’s former manner or that of others in common life – Among other particulars was this – He three times over gave Mr Agasse’s address in full, when there cd be no reason for giving it above once as if he had forgotten in the middle what he had written at the beginning of a short letter & again at the end what he had written in the middle – I made no remark & now tell you this in confidence – G. said he was going to Liverpool & then into Cornwall –
