Thomas Beddoes to James Watt, 19 May 1804
Dear Sir
I am very glad you are about to begin the calomel – I shall wait with a good deal of interest to hear the results of this in combination with bark – & I hope it will affect the other parts of the constitution sooner than the bowels – as soon as the mouth, gums or throat are touched, I expect we shall hear no more of fever fits – & that the dyspnea, atrophy &c will gradually disappear – Agues were never more common hereabouts – with compts to Mrs Watt & Mr Gregory I remain
Yrs very faithfully
Thomas Beddoes
