Thomas Beddoes to James Watt, September 1796
Dear Sir
I thank you for your news; & I feel obliged to Mr Keir for his intention. But if he has had the paper copied, I hope you will request him to send it to some other friend; as Mr Scott sent it me with some curious MS information I have already prescribed nitric acid according to him.
I shall say nothing about Capt Hemsley, as tomorrow I hope to send all the printed matter, which you have not under Mr Hare’s franks – who is here very well as he has been all along.
Mrs Lippencott goes on most prosperously – the patient with the ulcered breast has also much mended & is nearly well – Much is thought to be due to hdcarbonate taken internally –
I wd not give tonics till I had tried ox. again, as there seems no urgency.
I have been from here otherwise I wd have written sooner – & sent the sheets –
Yrs truly
Thomas Beddoes
