Thomas Beddoes to Thomas Wedgwood, 16 November 1794

Dear Sir

The Dutchess of Devonshire to whom I communicated your letter, said in a late letter, she shd follow your example; viz, in subscribing a sum immediately & a sum annually for 3 years, suppose –

I am chagrined you had not a parcel of proposals from Shropshire – I send all I can spare –

Mr Watt requested I wd send him a few respectable names to insert in the Birmm paper. I took yours & your father’s from your letter of Novr 3 as subscribers for ten guineas at present & 5 annually – But this needs not make any difference in your real subscriptions, which may appear (as you mention in your letter just received) in the London papers.

In tomorrow’s London Birm. paper you will see a good form for an advertisement in which consumption is mentioned.

I beg that you will have the rest of the papers I send corrected according to the single one – I am almost ashamed to impose this trouble upon you & remain

Yours with much regard

Thos Beddoes

Novr 16
1794

I have just received some very satisfactory intelligence from London. One gentleman much relieved of an asthma, has been shewing himself to the king in consequence.

Endorsement: From Dr Beddoes / to / Thos Wedgwood Esq / 16 Novr 1794
