409. Baldwin, Cradock & Joy to Hannah Bloomfield, original letter, with statement of accounts, and cover page, 8 March
1826 *
Paternoster Row
March 8 1826
Madam,
The manuscript is quite safe in our hands, but shall be despatched this day to No. 12 Providence Row as you direct.
We still think that the present season would be by no means favourable for its publication; but should Mr Weston and Mrs Bloomfield think
otherwise, we beg that we may not be considered as standing in the way of your negotiating the matter with some other house as we
are very little inclined to embark capital in uncertain adventures just now.
We inclose the statement of account which leaves us still creditors, owing principally to the unfavourable sale of the 'Remains'; and some additions must very shortly be made to the balance by the expenses of new editions of the Rural Tales and Wild Flowers which are at press, all having been accounted for as sold, as you will see by the account.
We remain Madam your obed. & faithful serv.
Baldwin Cradock and Joy.
Address: Miss Bloomfield, / 41 North Bank, / Regents Park
