370. Robert Bloomfield to John Wayman, 21 May 1823*
Shefford, Beds, May 21, 1823
To Mr Wayman
Dear Sir
I am forced to trouble you again on the subject of the Cottage at Honington. It must unavoidably appear to me a long delayd affair, considering the smallness of the concern. Of
Mr Bidwell and yourself I have heard the best possible accounts, where then have the obstacles to the completion of this affair which they, (sombody) seem to
make as much of as the sale of the Duke of Gs Estate? I am now informed by a young man from the spot, my relation, that my Brothers widow, occupying one tenement, actually pays her rent to Mr Sparham! how is this? And my London Booksellers say 'What were your Legal advisers about to suffer a purchaser to get possession before he had paid for it? this is quite unusual, and we hope they will bring you through it'—pray give me some information of what is going on, and you will relieve a frail sick frame, and a mind too full to be happy. Mr Lockwood, (to whom please to give my respects,) knows all about this
concern, but I cannot be on the spot, and my good friend Capel Lofft, is dead, at least dead to
me. [1] Believe me
Sir your Obed Ser't
Rob Bloomfield
