Letter 363 - The Letters of Robert Bloomfield

363. Robert Bloomfield to George Bloomfield, 24 October 1822*

(Extract)

Dear George,

I have lost both my sons [1]  from my fireside, and though they are not buried I miss them sorely, and feel as if I had killd them both, and I cannot yet get over it! This job has helpt to involve me in difficulties which time and patience alone can rub away. I have had much agitation and much sorrow of late from various causes which it would be here impossible to enumerate. My sight fails me greviously, and I think somtimes that of us two, I have the worst of it as to bodily infirmity. But I have still hope, and that is my chief comfort, I must be short.

Love to all your Brother,

Robt Bloomfield
