Letter 329 - The Letters of Robert Bloomfield

329. Robert Bloomfield to Walter Pye, 17 November 1818*

Shefford, Beds, Nov 17 1818

To Walter Pye Esq.

Sir,

I have the pleasure to inform you that I this morning received from Messrs Hodsal & Stirling the £40 you have procured me from the gentlemen subscribers to the Literary Fund. It is most welcome; and I hope you will communicate my sincere thanks in any form you please to Mr Fitzgerald and all who may have thus nobly distinguished an absent man without his personal solicitation or written statement of circumstances. I am proud to be thus remembered by those who applied to you on my behalf; and highly sensible of the friendly readiness which you have evinced in so promptly communicating news of such importance to

Dear Sir, your very humble servant

Robt Bloomfield
