London. May 8. 1817
5 oclock , a thunderstorm with rain has this instant past over
London, how were you at the same time.?
Dear Charles.
I recieved the letter first written, and your packet of yesterday
containing the Certificate &c. I have but little to say in the way of
news, only that I did not go yesterday to the London Tavern
to see the public examination of the children, but there was about a thousand
musterd on the occasion, and all introduced to march and hallo round the tables
while the gentlemen had their wine &c; Jane was delighted while I was at
home with the gripes.—I shall leave the Certificate with the Committee as soon
as possible.—I saw Mr Weston
yesterday, and heard that Hannah was well. Charlotte and I attended service on Sunday at Aldersgate Stt. Church,
and James saw her home last
night. I have very little money at present, but will try to attend to your hints
when I can, and am for the present and hope always to be your zealous
friend—
Robt Bloomfield.
Love to Rob
