Letter 288 - The Letters of Robert Bloomfield

288. Robert Bloomfield to Thomas Inskip, 17 May 1814*

Tuesday Night May 17 1814

Dear Sir

I yesterday left your Note at Alexanders respecting the music, and this morning calld on him and found your order ready sorted on the counter which (as he says) is exactly to your order but we fear that he has far exceeded it. You [illegible word] what I have paid for the enclosed, and must remonstrate with him if he is wrong.—

I hope to come home by Saturday's Coach. And I have not yet finally settled, but what is the use of swearing? See, now what a mess I should be in, had I promsed a day to start for Shakespeare's Cliff.

Respects to the Westons.

P.S. Please to send the enclosed letter to my Regiment immediately, yours

R Bloomfield

Address:Mr Inskip
