219. Robert Bloomfield to John Britton, 31 December 1807*
City Road. 31. Dec.1807
Dear Sir
Your note came to hand on monday evening la[MS torn] my Wife and part of the family being engaged out the fo[MS torn] day, I found it impossible to call on you, or to let you know in time.—But from your writing on the Monday and not using the word tomorrow, but the words, next Tuesday, I was not quite sure that you meant the Tuesday now past, If so I will gladly accept your evening proposal, as you and your house have abundance of constant invitation, as to conversation and drawings &c.—If I have blundered in this conjecture let it drop, and try to excuse me. And in the mean time accept the enclosed as a continuation of what we conversed about last time.
I am Sir yours truly
Rob Bloomfield
