149. Robert Bloomfield to Mary Ann Bloomfield, 20 December 1804*

Honington. Dec 20th 1804

Dear Mary

Dr Barker will take charge of this tomorrow morning. My Mother is still dangerously ill, but she knows me and calls me by name, a total stoppage of water has taken place since yesterday morning. but yet we have hopes that the disorder may turn, so that her fate may be known in a few days—

I have not seen Mr Lofft, nor the Duke. I lodge at Sapiston and am as happy as this melancholy scene will permit. my love to the Children and your Father. you shall hear again very soon. till then I am yours truly and affectionately

Rob Bloomfield
