Letter 131 - The Letters of Robert Bloomfield

131. Robert Bloomfield to Pierre Violet, 30 May 1804*

Shepherd & Shepherdess

To Mr P Violet

City Road

May ye. 30th 1804

Sir,

It is with much pleasure that I have to inform you that the Portrait acquires additional value every time it is look'd at. My Wife and children who best know my face are delighted with it; my youngest Daughter calls it 'Little Father'. And for myself, I am so convinced of the merit of the work that should it ever be thrown in my way to serve you in the way of your profession, depend on it that I shall not forget you while I have so good a remembrancer in the house. With our best wishes to yourself, Mrs Violet, and the Violet-buds.

I am Sir

Yours truly

Rob Bloomfield
